"there was a false fire alarm. the only thing I would suggest is to train the staff if that happens again, someone from the hotel should inform the patrons who responded to the fire alarm and went outside when it is okay to return to their room. No one from the hotel informed us it was okay to return to our room. every one just went back on their own. there were people staying in the hotel who lost everything in the bishop hills fire and were standing outside the hotel with their 5 children 8, 6, 5 3, and 6 months."

"Although the staff was friendly and tried to be very helpful, the property was old and overall dirty. The bathroom didn't look cleaned, and there were water spots on the mirror. Also I had to ask for toilet paper since our bathroom only had 1/4 left on the roll and we had no refills. Also there was no remote for the TV. Although they brought us a remote, along with more toilet paper, the remote didn't work and the staff did not know how to fix it. The breakfast was fair, but free, so that was fine. The air conditioning also smelled musty."

"We booked the king suite with tub in the room. Room was clean, if not a little musty and outdated. Bed is a spring mattress and very firm—and somehow very bouncy. WiFi is slow and spotty. Rooms on the backside (like ours) face the highway and it’s pretty loud. Blackout curtains are functional. Door to the bathroom opens literally *into* the toilet, annoying but obviously not a dealbreaker. Cute pool! I felt that the price ($175) didn’t really reflect the condition and amenities, but it was fine for our stop on a road trip."

"The saving grace of our stay was that the bed was comfortable & for a hotel it was quiet. My husband said the breakfast was good & all the staff we ran into were friendly & helpful. We didn't use any amenities, but after seeing the pics online & reading reviews my expectations were high but the hotel itself is rough around the edges to say the least. The window in our room was cracked, carpet was frayed & tearing, tiles cracked & missing etc. My husband took a shower & kept getting scalded, presumably when another room turned on their water? The idea is there but the bones of this place are just worn down & falling apart. Clean, quiet, comfy bed, decent breakfast but in need of some serious repair & attention to detail."

"Spacious rooms! Included breakfast is “lite” continental, but was enough to tide us over until we stopped somewhere else. We checked in very late the night we stayed but we were still greeted with a welcoming smile and much helpfulness from the girl at the front desk."
