"Before i booked southgate inn i tried to look some of the other hotels in kabankalan and compare the reviews…and southgate standout.What i liked was very accessible. Staff are very pleasant and friendly and helpful! Only the wifi are very poor and slow.And please try to refresh the room before the guest came..i understand sometimes the executive suite are not always the first pick of the travellers who stays a little bit longer..i saw the drinking glass inside the bathroom are already dusty dry,..that is why i asked the housekeeping to change it..and try to clean the glass wall of the shower room and the floor…so no more soap stains that makes look dirty.theirs spider web in the lamp sheds and corner tables are dusty too…looks never used for a long time.Small flaws…easy fix! But all in all we enjoyed our stay! If we have a chance to cone back…Southgate still my first choice to stay! Thank you for the good service! "

"On the Expedia website, it listed this hotel as haveing room for 8 people in the standard room and 13 in the next level room. Also, it listed the standard room as having 4 queen beds. However, initially, I said there were 3 adults and three children ages 12, 17, and 17. Moreover, I messaged the property that we were going to have 4 adults and 3 children. I figured that the property claimed it could handle eight so adding one shouldn’t be a problem. However, when we arrived at the property, the room we were given was a small room, had one queen bed and one small day bed. It could hardly accommodate our party. I complained to manager at the desk who didn’t believe That I booked that room. I showed her the write in Expedia and she took a picture of it with her phone. She insisted I booked the room we were given and that there was a charge for our extra adult. I said that room would not work so she gave us a slightly larger room and brought in small beds for the floor for, charged my card 4 k p. Mind you, the ad said free breakfast, but we would have to pay for the extra persons’s breakfast but the following day, we were only given five free breakfasts saying that it wasn’t the number of booked guests but the number of beds we were given, which was 5. Therefore we would have to pay for two breakfasts. Again, I spoke with the desk about the discrepancy in breakfast but no finally. To my way of thinking this was a scam, the false advertising on Expedia of the sleeps 8."

"This was an amazing stay... the views are absolutely gorgeous. The rooms were clean and very cozy and the staff was very nice. The host was able to give amazing recommendations for our tours. Assisting us in going to oslob and moalboal. Her recommendations were amazing and we missed the hecticness of the crowds. It was almoat like paying for a private tour. They have a few restaurants near by with great food. We did rent car in city so we had transport but even for days we didnt use transport. Help and assistance was provided. I hope your stays are as amazing and wonderful as ours. "

"We stayed 11 nights. Very friendly and helpful staff, spacious room. However, the bathroom had bad smell and very little water in thevshower andvtaps. And water too had bad smell."

"The property itself is good for a family wanting to stay in nature, it is very near the beach. Charles the groundkeeper was very nice and can take you on short trips for a small fee. Having very close access to the beach was a huge plus for us, especially when the tide was out and the kids were able to explore the rocks. On the negative side, the neighbours can be a little noisy but will be quiet for a while if you ask them nicely. We often found glass from broken bottles washed up on the beach, but I think this is almost unavoidable and can be quickly cleared before setting any littler kids to run wild. Recommended if you have your own transport or just want to be away from the city for a while. Great access to the Whale Sharks and waterfalls. Owner is very quick to reply to messages."
