"Staff very friendly. The room and facilities are clean and well maintained. They have plenty of oversized parking in the back which was great as I was towing a trailer.
Check in/ out is easy.
This is an iconic hotel and restaurant! Highly recommend!"

"Booked a comfort room because of the pictures on Expedia.
The room was nothing like the photos, it was dated with old stuff and a ripped carpet.
Went to reception and showed the lady the pictures on Expedia she agreed that we had not got what we booked.
We were upgraded to a suite which did look like the photos. When we walked into the room it smelled like someone had used far too much very strong air freshener which was choking. No windows in the room.
The hotel has worn and ripped carpets on walkways and broken tiles on the lift floor and other area near by.
We were there on a Saturday and wanted to get a drink in the bar but because there was a band on we had to pay 10 dollars each to get in. "

"Ended up here unexpectedly after our vehicle broke down on I-40, and the Holiday Inn Amarillo East made a tough situation a lot more bearable. The front desk was incredibly accommodating with a flexible late checkout since we weren't sure when our vehicle would be ready, no hassle, no attitude, just genuine helpfulness.
They also went out of their way to stash our cooler of freshly caught crappie in their commercial freezer after an unexpected delay left us worried about our fish thawing. That's above and beyond by any measure.
Rooms were very clean and the beds were genuinely comfortable. The indoor pool was a hit with the kids, and impressively the water was refreshingly cold even though the pool area itself was warm on a nearly 100 degree Amarillo day. Perfect combination for stressed out kids stuck in a city they didn't plan to be in.
Would absolutely stay here again, and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone passing through Amarillo."
