Palmetto hotel rooms a the Independent

"When I pulled up I thought it looked like a standard type Florida motel but……. I was wrong. Once you enter the back of the resort you will be totally surprised with 2 really nice pools, jacuzzi, very clean beach scene, beach restaurant , gourmet restaurant and bar and a really nice coffee shop. "

"The rooms were tired. It seems like a great family resort with a ton of kids. The water in the room is nasty. I think it’s the whole town though. The staff was great and the pools are abundant. They have 1 adult pool. There is a burger bar across the street that has great seafood ironically. "

"The hotel is lovely, but they have some challenges that affected my stay and my overall opinion of the property. We waited 45 minutes in line to check in due to a system shutdown. The toilet in our room cycled all night, keeping us up, and requiring a room change. The hotel then didn’t recognize our prepaid room and charged me again for the room nights, pulling the funds from my bank account and adding undue charges to my credit card. It was an unfortunate experience that will prevent me from wanting to stay there again, which is disappointing because I love the location and beauty of the building. "

"I enjoyed my stay here but the part of the hotel we stayed in was old. Dim lighting in the bathroom, I could see light coming from under our door which opened to the strip so noise was at premium, old carpet. But the beach view was great and it was a very convenient location within walking distance to grocery store and restaurants. Loved it that they let you take beach chairs and towels to the beach. I would stay here again but probably after they renovate the tower, where I stayed, which the manager said is coming up in the future. "
