"There was an event that was happening the evening of the day that I arrived. The lobby and all areas around attempting to enter the building, getting to the front desk to check in, getting to the restaurant, getting to the elevator, etc. were all blocked by people standing around drinking & talking. They should've used a room on the property for their group. And, allow guests to enter lobby, access restaurant & elevators.
Blocking access is a safety & fire hazard. And give impression that group function is more important than all other guests & their experience.
The fire alarm went off about 6 am, to vacate the property by use of stairs.
To find out the kitchen staff burned some bacon. Seems a very large reaction to "just burning some bacon". Someone from the kitchen was telling everyone as we exited stairwell to outside. There was no attempt to provide any customer service, apology for inconvenience, etc.
After everyone was returning to inside lobby, the Starbucks staff was not present. And when they did return, they were very slow to wait on customers.
The hotel itself seems to need attention, some tlc. And the pool is oddly located by going out the front door & passing thru the parking lot. Alot of missing & broken tiles.
The shuttle service was a pleasant surprise. 2 front desk clerks were friendly & provided very good recommendations.
