"I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. The walls were coming away from each other at the corners, leaving gaping holes which allowed mosquitos to enter and snack on us all night! If you are staying in room 104 check the mattress, we discovered after sleeping in the room the first evening blood stains on the bed sheets, upon inspection we noticed a rather large blood stain on the mattress. It look like leakage from a menstrual cycle, we were absolutely disgusted. After we informed them of these issues, they upgraded us to there ‘better’ room for the evening, upon entering the room, the sofa was covered in stains, there was a large dead moth on the rug and what appears to be bird poo on the boxing above the curtain, along with half a pack of used issues. God knows who they employed to clean these rooms, but I would love to see their home! Im sure the staff thought we were being dramatic. Other than that, the pool area was lovely and got the sun all day, which is were we spent most of our time as we feared getting ill from being in the room. Please see pictures attached."

"Beautiful resort with everything you need without even leaving. However, shopping Kutta Central area is a bit far but the hotel has a small taxi service to help. Great breakfast and dinner next to the beach and gym 10/10"

"The photos that sold me on this place looked unreal. Nice Mediterranean looking accommodation next to the ocean. Amazing looking food, reviews stating how clean it was. But, this was 1973.. now it's run down & the uncared for. They ran out of toilet rolls & we had to source our own. The A/C & TV didn't work.. The rooms aren't serviced. The towels you start with, stay with you for the duration of your stay. No coffee /tea station in room.. the music from the bars on both sides & the doof doof crap seems to go all night..On the positive side, the pool was nice & clean beds to sleep in. Not too mouldy.. On the whole.. it's cheap & below average. "

"Breathtaking Location, Warm Staff – But Needs Improvement in Comfort and Value Jiva Baluam is set in a truly stunning location nestled in a secluded bay with a private beach that feels like your own paradise. The natural beauty is overwhelming, and the bungalows are located right on the sand. It’s a place where you can fully disconnect and enjoy nature. However, the resort is very remote – there are no alternative dining options within 30 minutes, so you’re fully dependent on the in-house restaurant. Unfortunately, the food quality doesn’t justify the high prices. The Indonesian breakfast (like Nasi Goreng) was okay, but the Western breakfast was quite disappointing in both taste and presentation. The resort has been around for over ten years and is beginning to show signs of age. Some renovations would definitely enhance the guest experience. The bungalows are charming, but not well-equipped: there’s no fridge, which is a real downside given the isolation, especially since cold drinks from the restaurant are very expensive. Also, there’s no kettle – as an early riser, I found it frustrating that I couldn’t have tea or coffee until the restaurant opened at 8 a.m. On the bright side, the staff are wonderfully kind and helpful, and the WiFi is excellent surprisingly strong for such a remote location. In summary, Jeeva Baluam offers a magical natural setting and warm hospitality, but it would benefit greatly from thoughtful upgrades and a more guest-friendly infrastruct,"

"I booked this last minute due to a two day flight delay and what a treat. The staff are super friendly and attentive. The place itself made us feel spoiled. They offer free rides on scooters if you want to go anywhere. Afternoon tea with homemade chocolate treats. Highly recommend!"
