The Belmont Hotel

6/10 Okay

"The room could use a good cleaning, especially around the windows and lights. The junior suite lacked air conditioning so a fan was provided on request. Otherwise, the hotel is in a great location offering a peaceful night’s sleep, plenty of restaurants and helpful friendly staff. I asked for extra water which was provided but it would be better if it was always available in the room given the hot weather. The sink water is drinkable but I’m not comfortable with that. There’s plenty of parking space although I didn’t use a car and I’m sure you can register with the hotel if you do. Overall, it’s worth checking out and some modernisation and cleaning would be nice in a suite. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to wake up early for breakfast on my last night because I had a late night and the hotel staff were wonderful enough to give me a late check out. However, my sleep was broken by staff calling me to check in which was a bit irritating since I had already confirmed a late check-in before I went to bed. Why would you call a guest staying then apologise for waking them up? It’s a bit daft."

"Our stay was fine, and it was great to stay in a hotel with a pool. The location was good and easy to find. The staff were pleasant but perhaps not as knowledgeable or skilled as they should be- eg didn’t know what was on the children’s menu )they didn’t have any printed) and then brought her a different dinner, having to repeat our orders as they had forgotten. Male staff in the gym could have been more polite. On both days there were no towels available and it seemed to put them out that they had to find us some. Plenty of parking but this is charged at £10 a night, which for a private car park for the hotel seems a lot to charge guests. Our room was fine, but the adjoining family room didn’t have any drawers or wardrobes (spare bedding in drawers) and no light but a lamp in the corner. The air con controls were set in both rooms and couldn’t be changed, but were very noisy when they fired up- enough to wake you. pool good, although decor could do with updating as is tired,not many keys available for the lockers. Sauna and steam was good. Jacuzzi was just an adjoining circle to the pool with bubbles, rather than a hot tub. Food was decent;dinner menu better than quality and range available for breakfast. Eggs other than scrambled had to be ordered when a waiter/chef was available. No mushrooms,sausages and bacon were ok but not particularly tasty. No pancakes or fresh bread other than presliced for toast. Coffee from a machine was fine. Ok but not a great Hilton"

"I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel so welcome with their kindness and professionalism. Their warm hospitality really made my experience special. I also loved the amenities — everything was well-maintained and added so much comfort to my stay. The food was absolutely delicious, and every meal was something to look forward to. Thank you to the entire team for making my visit so memorable. I genuinely appreciated the care and effort, and I would be happy to return again."

"Was looking forward to the stay however very disappointed to say the least . 1.Most hotels if you get their early allow an earlier check in if there is availability- this hotel wants £25 per hour for an earlier checkin 2. As we got there early than check in, we used the pool. As this is a 4 star establishment , at the minimum expected body wash in the pool showers. There were 4 showers in changing rooms, all 4 soap dispensers empty. Makes me wonder , are the hourly checks actually being done ? Had to therefore have the shower in my room instead. When I made staff aware , at no stage was I offered soap/ for someone to refill it 3. Then we went out to get some food- drive to the barrier and it says to exit i need a code . I was never told.of a code at check in at all . Stuck at the barrier for 10 min as there isnt even a help button by the barrier. Ended up phoning the hotel to get the pin code to exit . Told the hotel we were never told of the code needed-- the staff response was you need to check the walls in reception , as code is there. Didn't realise, not have i ever been told to search walls of a hotel to see if I need any codes. The hotel should tell their patrons all the information they need . Pool area was dated , didnt try the in house restaurant so cant comment on that I personally wouldn't stay here again . Was expecting a 4 star hotel for a nice spa break with some nice treatments etc. Treatments we now booked elsewhere."

"Nice looking hotel. Rooms really nice , bed comfortable, nice bathroom with good shower pressure. Decent wifi speeds. Full English breakfast, loads of choice, we'll presented. Would recommend if you're playing at Dusk till Dawn poker club, 15 min drive away. Loads of parking"
