"A good value this time of year and close to any essentials a traveler may need. Carpenteria or "Carp" as the locals prefer, is very much a diverse, affordable and very much an artisan community just 10 minute drive south of Montecito and Santa Barbara on the 101 PCH, The difference is noticeable as far as housing, and the never, never, never ending freeway reconstruction of 101 in Santa Barbara (make sure your GPS is up to date, some exits are no longer) Vagabond Inn South is located west of the PCH and I'm pleased to have chosen this property over the sister property Vagabond Inn North (east of the 1010 and much closer to the freeway noise) and farther away from any essentials. Lots to do within a walking distance from the South location and the town center has quite a few small shops to get lost in as well as very healthy, very trendy and quite delicious foodies. Go for it"

"We have business in Oxnard and enjoy the hotel about once a month. I have only one complaint. The bathrooms no matter the room are wired with an auto light that you cannot turn off if you don’t want it. So anytime you enter the bathroom for a quick toilet trip in the middle of the night you will be blinded by bright light along with anyone else who was asleep in the room. When we remember we bring duck tape and tape over the sensor. Unfortunately this time we forgot. It is so very annoying and when I mentioned it at the front desk the response was, it was just"

"The place is nearly new so it was very nice, I've stayed in Springhill Suites before and this was identical. Walk-in showers, a work desk in the room, bed was just right. The breakfast was scheduled to be open at 6:30, but they opened just after 6 am which fit my schedule perfectly. The amenities in the area were plentiful in terms of restaurants, a new Target, and lots of shopping across the street. It was a very pleasant stay."
