"Tub was chipping, light bulbs burnt out and on the stand some one mented something and they never bothered to clean it. We had to sweep as soon as we got in the room. Just not because of sand. I wouldve given a higher score if we did not pay 1295.00 for 4 nights. Also we had to take out the trash and go get towels. Too boot I booked this room almost 2 months ago and every other booking agancy had the rooms for 4 has $500 less than Expedia. Which normally are very good to use. The staff was friendly and willing to help. "
Travelodge by Wyndham Outer Banks/Kill Devil Hills
10/10 Excellent
"This was our 3rd time staying at this property. Love that we are ground floor & poolside. Easy access to take our dog out....multiple doggy "poop stations"....they are ALWAYS well stocked with waste bags. Very short walk across the street to the beach. Staff is ALWAYS beyond helpfull and friendly. "
"The room was clean and the one issue that we did have, with the toilet being clogged on check in, was addressed immediately. Breakfast was decent the day I tried it and desk staff were very friendly! My only criticism would be the overwhelming smell of pot smoke once someone checked into the room next to us, the entire floor smelled at one point, had I been staying longer I would have asked to be moved to another room. To each their own, people are free to do what they want but it stinks plain and simple and it’s supposed to be a no smoking property, so I guess places need to enforce that more. "
"Really enjoyed my stay here for a 5 day solo getaway. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was perfect for relaxing and exploring the area. I especially appreciated the easy beach access and the peaceful atmosphere during my stay. I loved that the Inn was central to all the spots I wanted to go to and the Kill Devil Hill Grill is right across the street from it.
The water pressure and hot water in the shower were AMAZING after long days out. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable of the area, and check-in/check-out was simple. Breakfast was okay. I just wished their were more protein options. Fresh waffles, cereals, milk, yogurt hard boiled eggs, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, bread, bagels, coffee, water and tea were available for breakfast. Air conditioning worked very well, I loved that it had a dry setting to use if the room got damp. However the bathroom fan in my suite did not work so I had to use that setting more often than usual. I liked that they had pots, pans, and cooking utensils in my room and the refrigerator was very spacious.
The property is a bit older in some areas but the inside was completely as pictured, but overall it felt cozy, clean, safe, and worth the price for the experience. As a female solo traveler, I would definitely stay again for another quiet reset trip.
