Room is spotless. The owners are very welcoming and the breakfast is delicious
Beautiful house, comfortable beds, awesome breakfast, beautiful tropical garden, great location and the loveliest hosts ever. Don't look further & book your stay with Daniel & Sonia.
We stayed one night at the Oakdene Guest House and wished we had stayed for two nights. The owners, Sonia and Daniel, were very welcoming and couldn’t have done anymore for us. Sonia cooks her own bread and cakes for guests. The smell and taste of both was fantastic. There is a swimming pool at the end of the long garden which was a great spot to unwind after a long drive.
We would recommend this guest house and definitely stay here again if we visit Oudtshoorn. This guest house is perfect for a stop over.

We had a wonderful stay at Oakdene. This lovely property dates from the mid 19th century and retains many original features. The owners have also retained the period atmosphere in the way they have beautifully furnished and decorated the house. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left and they were happy to chat with us over breakfast, which was freshly prepared, delicious and set us up nicely for the day.
Oakdene is situated centrally within easy walking distance of some lovely restaurants and all the amenities you could need, and easy driving distance of attractions such as Highgate ostrich farm, the Cango caves, Buffelsdrift Game Lodge and so on.
We will definitely be returning. Thank you for making our stay so special.
We had a comfortable and relaxing stay at this wonderful guest house. Some of the best features were the incredibly spacious rooms, warm hospitality from the owners, a huge leafy garden with a pool to relax by, and excellent touches like freshly baked bread with breakfast. I hope to stay here again soon.

We stopped at Oakdene overnight on a drive from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. The guesthouse room was spacious, well appointed and immaculate. After a long, hot drive, the beautiful backyard garden and pool were extremely welcome. Afterwards, we had dinner at a very good restaurant just a few blocks away and breakfast the next morning on the verandah. All in all, a very comfortable resting place.

Oakdene Guest House has a really nice garden to rest. The hosts are a friendly german couple. They will answer all your questions what to do in Oudtshoorn and its surrounding.

Room in a complicated house
A clean room in a house, need to pass through 3 rooms reach the area of the rented rooms. One window .
Wonderful wifi, nice breakfast.
Wake up very early , when the people from the next room left their room.
Good location.
Great stay close to Addo Elephant NP (18 km). Staff was very helpful, prepared us breakfast packages as we went early to the NP. They helped us with bookings in restaurants. You need a car as shops and restaurants are about 10 km away. Rooms were spacious and very clean. All in all a great stay in the middle of nowhere.
We stayed for one night on a 3 week Garden Route Trip. The original room no 4 was very spacious and comfortable, unfortunately the bath leaked so we had to be moved. This was not an issue though, we where moved promptly. Point of note was room 4 had no shower. The room we were moved to had both so might be worth mentioning when booking. There are a few nice restaurants in walking distance and the owner also offered us a lift to another one he recommended.

Oakdene Guest House
Unfortunately the owner was not there when we stayed, but the guy who was standing in was very pleasant. The house is old (national monument) and has a cluttered feel to it. All rooms have ensuites, but not all have showers. The garden needs some attention and the garden furniture was not the best - not conducive to sitting outside.
The breakfasts were very good and it was pleasant eating on the terrace.
The location is good for restaurants and getting to the local sights - Cango Caves etc.
Warm welcome. Magical decor and furnishings. Very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast was superb. Very convenient for exploring local area.
We would definitely go again.
