"Great location. Nice room with good bathroom amenities. Lovely breakfast with a view on the terrace. The personnel were also really friendly. The only negative was noise spill since our room was just off the reception, but the property was generally quiet in evenings till morning so it didn’t disturb our sleep too much."

"This is an excellent hotel in a renovated building that used to be a cinema museum. Rooms were large and well decorated. Bed was very comfortable, Location was perfect. Breakfast was also great. We liked everything about this hotel."

"DO NOT BOOK A STAY HERE The building is currently a construction site, there is scaffolding surrounding the apartment and my balcony had power tools and building materials scattered everywhere with parts of the balcony torn up for renovations. The balcony which viewed over the Temple Ruins was the main reason I booked this room. The room also smelt like cement, had dirt on the floors, likely from the building work. The bathroom stank of a blocked drain, the toilet seat was stained and the tap and showhead were rusted and dirty, with no water pressure for the shower. The B&B is not even called Casa Verga or it has 2 different names to make things confusing. The host is non-existent. Both phone numbers they had advertised did not connect, there has been no response from my messages on this app and an email I sent 4 days ago. I was lucky I kind of worked out where the entrance to the property was and one of the hosts happened to be standing outside, even though I waited an hour after check-in time to get in. As soon as they gave me the keys, they were gone and as stated before I never heard them again. No breakfast as advertised. I decided to leave after the 1st night of what was supposed to be a 4 night stay and go to another B&B as this was not suitable in any sense. I came back to give back my keys and demand a refund but no surprise there was no one there for check out with no other instructions. Worst experience ever"

"This is a fabulous old style hotel brought up to date in a really good location for Ortigia. The rooftop restaurant and terrace have a beautiful view and breakfast has a very large choice and is very good. The staff are extremely attentive and all seem to have the freedom to chat to guests like human beings and not "5 star robots". A welcome change."
