Great location and it looks like they are trying to make improvements so they get credit for that. Lack of convenient outlets is an issue, lights mounted above the headboard but switch is by the door so not great, if you are ok either way a muffin and banana for breakfast then you will be fine, window in room was disconnected from the crank so had to take screen off and pull window closed…little things add up.

On a normal day, I would harp about the dated rooms and property. But here's the thing - The room was surprisingly clean, the location is nothing short of perfect, and the price (comparatively) reasonable. On top of that, renovations are underway. And what I saw looked great! Hopefully the place remains affordable. In the meantime, enjoy an actual key (you know, the old-style metal key with room tag attached), a clean room, the absolutely amazing views, and don't expect too much from the breakfast bar. A little bit of a mixed bag, but I can't wait to stay here again!

Sign said 100 dollars a night I paid 63 dollars more. Also wasn't sold out for weekend. Nice location just needs some TLC. Beds were very old.

We loved that the Lake was right across the road from us and we were close to the Porcupine Stare Park entrance. We didn’t like that there was no staff on duty when we arrived and we didn’t see anyone all the next day either even though we were in and out several times. They had left a key for us on the counter. There was a number to call but no one answered/no voicemail available. The cold water didn’t work in our sink. My sheets seemed sandy so I slept on top of them. When we did meet the owner he was nice and got us more towels that we asked for. Sounds like he bought the place after it stood empty for 15 years, and you can tell he has been improving it, but it still needs a lot of work. We usually tent camp but with the heat this week this was still a better alternative, and we loved the location.
