"The hotel was sort of a hybrid between a large hotel with ammenities and a small traditional ryokan. If you are looking for the most traditional ryokan, I'm sure you can find something more to that taste. The room was great - very large with sliding doors separating the spaces. Breakfast was good. I didn't eat dinner. I stayed 2 nights and it was great to be on Miyajima early morning and night. If you decide not to include breakfast, Miyajima does have good breakfast options and of course many dinner ones."
"Absolutely gorgeous hotel with accommodating staff. We had the Japanese style room and the Tatami mats were wonderful— best sleep ever! We also had the sea view and the private onsen which made for a relaxing morning and romantic evening. And the lounge: take advantage!"
"Staff are very kind and our Japanese style room was well appointed. We did not try the breakfast.
My only suggestion for travellers is if you get the sea facing room, it's directly window facing the main street everyone takes to get to the gate. Therefore starting from 8am, it can be loud."
"This hotel was our favourite of the entire trip. The breakfast was delicious and fresh, they also offered free postcards to mail home including postage, there's an area to take a polaroid with the other guests who have stayed, and they have late night snacks. While definitely more on the pricy side, it's worth it to be on the island and beat the tourist congestion by staying on the island overnight. Totally worth the price!"
"Beautiful ryokan and great place for an onsen retreat! Staff were incredibly helpful & accommodating, and Japanese breakfast was amazing! Would recommend highly; would love to return for another visit!"
