"This hotel is wonderfully situated between the foothills of the mountains and a river. However, it needs a serious upgrade. Stained chairs and carpets make guests feel uncomfortable"

"Quite possibly one of the hidden gems of Hakuba Goryu. If you want the true Hakuba local experience and taken back in time, this is your spot. No frills and feel like you are staying with your relatives. Amazing hosts that go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant.
As for proximity to Goryu base, we walked it back (10 mins) at the end of every day so it’s very close.

"It’s a cosy, cute little place to stay in!
Just remember to bring your own towel if your fussy otherwise you only get a very small, thin towel to clean yourself with after the shower!
But the service was great and the owners are a cute couple who are always helpful! "

"Less expensive and budget friendly. Amenities available like Onsen and table tennis. Laudry is also available. Distance is the disadvantage. It's a little far from the city center although still walking distance. "
"Budget friendly pension, you get what you pay for. If you're just there to ski, want to save money, and don't care for a fancy place or amenities. Room was decently spacious, we had a quad room 2 beds with 2 more beds with the loft so could fit up for 4 people.
Pros: Walkable to Goryu Ski Resort, there are a couple of bars/restaurants within 2 minutes of walking. There is a place to store your skis/snowboard equipment and its a heated room so your items can dry. The owners will cook for you (extra cost) for breakfast or dinner (never tried it, but others staying here said the food was solid).
Con: You can only use the shower from 4pm - 9:30pm and its on the bottom floor. There is only 1 shower from what I saw. Ended up just using the onsen at Goryu Ski Resort every night after skiing to shower. The main shared bathroom only has 1 stall for the men's side, but there is one downstairs on the main floor too. "
"The staff were very helpful, beyond the expectations even with the language barrier they try to help out. Clean hotel and quiet. I would recommend to stay in this hotel "
