Hotel President Sarajevo

"Overall a very good hotel. The room is spacious, modern and comfort. The location is just perfect. Breakfast is also excellent - lots of variety. There are however a few wrinkles that I believe the management should be aware of: - twice during my stay the air conditioning cut out in the middle of the night, making the room uncomfortably hot. The control panel becomes totally unresponsive and it seems to need a reset by reception - on one of the days housekeeping did not clean my room, for unknown reasons. Reception offered to replace the water bottle and towel. It took another call to reception to get a bottle but the towel never showed up - the safety deposit box was left closed when I checked in to my room meaning I couldn’t use it for the first night. Reception was supposed to send someone that night but no one showed up. Be aware that if you have a room facing the river, the traffic noise can be quite high. Other than that, happy to recommend this hotel."

"Location is excellent. The aircon worked very well. The bed was comfortable and shower very good. Breakfast was adequate although I would have liked to have had more choice. It did not start until 08:00 although sometimes a bit earlier, but this was no use for days when you book a tour. The outside street noise was a little noticeable during the night. I didn't use the bar or restaurant for lunch/dinner. I would happily return here."

"The property is in a fantastic location in the Austro-Hungarian Quarter, very close to old town. It is a well-appointed apartment and very quiet. It is centrally located with short walks to all venues (with exception of Tunnel of Hope, which is a 7 km drive). Lots of bakeries, coffee shops and restaurants. A street runs very close to the entrance, but parking is a few blocks away, mostly up the North hill. You can only pay with BAM at the parking establishments."

"Want a true, authentic, Bosnian experience? Then Guest House Halvat is the place for you. At the forefront is owner and manager Valida, who I can only describe as being the true star of the show. She is a real force to be reckoned with and, having given 25+ years of exemplary service to the people of BiH and, indeed, the world, it is by far no surprise that Guest House Halvat continues to stand tall. The amount of positive reviews really do speak for themselves. For me, what is most noticable is how her kindness, empathatic nature, dedication to service and experience all shine through in abundance. As a first time visitor to BiH, I myself was feeling quite overwhelmed by everything. But Valida really put me at ease. Every single waking moment was spent making sure that I had everything that I needed (whether that was in person or over Whatsapp). She treated me as a human first and a customer second and even offered to help me out with a taxi, on the day of my holiday, when i returned to Sarajevo to go to the airport. We had long conversations about our lives. The key thing for me is being able to provide that personal touch. Valida, for me, went above and beyond."

"Very clean hotel, fantastic location. Very clean with lots of natural sunlight with great views. It’s across the street from the old town. Also a 5-10 minute walk from other attractions. I originally stayed at a hotel about a 15 minute drive and finding taxis can be challenging so I switched to the Ornament and I’m so happy I did. The staff at the Ornament Hotel were very friendly and helpful. I will be recommending this hotel to all my friends."
