"Some allowance is to be made for the ongoing upgrades. The breakfast was the low point of our experience. Foods had been repackaged ( ziplock baggies) before offered to customers. Toasters were inadequate, multiple cycled were needed to warm food. We were unable to toast (brown) any bread product. If maple syrup is offered it should be thicker than water."

"Very clean room, but we stayed in the older section that is slated for renovation. Easy check in, and stay. The restaurant had great food and was open late. They know their business and cater to those arriving late into, or leaving early from, Halifax airport. The shuttle takes 5-7 minutes which makes planning easy. We left too early to enjoy the breakfast."

"We stayed in the honeymoon suite and the king bed was amazingly comfortable. The staff were great and helped me with heavy bags up the steep stairs (be ready for that if you’re old or weak). The adjacent beach across the road was quite with hardly anyone on it (romantic). The down side of the room was 3 things: 1) there were only sheers on the windows so privacy at night was a little off and the room was too bright in the morning. 2) the shower stall was ridiculously small - about 24” x 30” so the curtain stuck to my side and the shower head was an old ‘water saver’ head and hardly sprayed much water. 3) the bathroom fan was noisy and requires replacing. The chandelier above the jacuzzi tub made us laugh as we banged our heads on it standing up. Oh and #4 if the owners are reading… replace the window screens! The ocean view is no good blurred by ancient window screens. A nice stay but not worth the money -especially for newlyweds and because I need a nice shower!!"

"This was a nice stay. Was expecting to dine there that eve but restaurant was closed. A little inconvenient in entering and leaving property due to heavy traffic. We missed the entrance on the first go by turning too soon then had to go back about 3 miles to get back on route. We missed breakfast menu at restaurant by a few minutes after 11 am so went up the road. Nice location near the lake shore. This hotel is reasonably priced with good value stay when booked way in advance."

"This was a great place to stay away from the bustle of downtown, and the lake setting was peaceful and beautiful. Parking was a bit of an issue, particularly on the Saturday night, but hotel staff were available to help."
