"The room was absolutely beautiful, the private bath was so lovely in the cold night air. The staff were all so friendly and attentive, it really felt like they had thought of everything! We would definitely stay here again The only downside is that when arriving, the driveway/road up to the hotel is completely gravel so it was very hard to get our suitcase to the hotel. We ended up getting a taxi back to the train station at the end of our stay and that was much easier. Strongly recommend not walking to the hotel from the train station if you have a big suitcase like we did"

"This property was beautiful, I wish I could have stayed longer. Great kitchen, spa room with bath, everything you needed and everything felt brand new. Location was a bit out of town and was either a bus, taxi or a long walk uphill. This was my favorite property in Japan. I would definitely stay longer next time. "

"The hotel is old but historic. The rooms were ample and very comfortable. The staff was super nice and went out of our way to help us feel welcome. The location is perfect, very close to the temples and at a 5 minute taxi ride from the train station. Also walkable in half an hour or less. Breakfast was very good. I would have stayed one night longer to be honest."

The room was prepared perfectly, and the service was a 10/10. The breakfasts dinners that were prepared were unique and delicious all around. The staff was kind. I think this hotel and the surrounding town were the perfect getaway from the fast city life. It really gave me time to relax"

"The stay was great. Mae sure you get a really soft pillow because there was a long hard pillow in the bed. You were allowed to get another pillow. I recommend it. Otherwise this was a great hotel and close to train"

"The room was magnificent! It was huge with great view of the mountains! Heater worked wonderful! It was freezing outside so a good heater was super good for the night! It was a Japanese style room, tatami floors and beds AND they had extra beds to make it more comfy! Would stay here again!!! "
