"第一印象としては思ったより幹線道路沿いにあるなと思いましたが、宿の中はとても静か。昔の豪農のおうち（文化財）を改築したようです。大浴場の景観も山側が見えるようにされています。スタッフの方々の気配りもとても良い印象でした。夕食は質実剛健といった感じ。お野菜多めで見た目も美しく、お味も上品。量控えめなのかなと思いきや、メインは赤身の新潟和牛をしっかりめに出してくださり、最後は美味しい白ごはんとけんちん汁。おなかいっぱいでした。朝食も種類が多いわけではないのですが、美味しい白ごはんとそのお供を中心に、ビュッフェスタイルでじゅうぶんなバリエーション。さらに席についたときに3種類から一品温かい主菜を選ばせてくれます。ラウンジでも時間によってパティスリー、ソフトドリンク、日本酒などを無料で提供。チェックアウト12時はとてもゆっくりできました。"

My Japanese is very limited, but they took the time to carefully explain things for me at a level I could understand, including the food. If you can get out to Tsunan (and the train there was quite scenic, so do try), I really can't recommend it enough. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer."
