"Perla del Sole is a small, friendly B&B, though with a hotel-style reception, in the resort of Arenella, 8km from Syracuse. "We chose to stay at this hotel because it was just outside of town and had a pool. The ground of the hotel are beautiful, and the pool was perfect in the extreme heat. My only issue was the location. It is a 15 minute drive to the center of Siracusa, and if you don't have a car, you are forced to pay 30 euros each way. There is no public transportation, and it is very difficult to get to any of the nearby beaches on foot."

Very close to this somewhat isolated location is a fantastic little beach (Spiaggia Massolivieri). It is the nicest beach we have been to in Italy!
