"We had a great stay at The Hideaway. It was the quietest place I think I've ever stayed. It had everything we needed for a week away. Lyme Regis is only a couple of miles away if you're into fossils, or beaches. Only a short walk, but it's a bit of climb on the way back."

Only after contacting Travelnest (the third company in charge of advertising the property) by phone on the day of check-in, I got a very short email from the owner about the check-in time (an hour later than advertised) and code for the key box. "It took 40 years but I finally made it to university!😂 The room was a standard dorm room with basic facilities. And a wonderful view from the 13th floor. And as it was after the end of the term it was very quiet and empty. All you can eat breakfast included, so a great start to the day. "

"I had not realised in advance that it was a net carbon neutral hotel. I was absolutely amazed by all the design and actions that were at work to make this hotel eco-friendly. Brilliant - if this hotel can do it, so can most others! Elegant Skandi look to all the architecture, inside and out, all practical and with a purpose, but attractive also. Bed comfortable, bathroom great (shower excellent) and I was able to have fresh air through a filter panel in the window also. Room was reasonably priced. Dinner was good and priced OK. Continental breakfast was very nice; the cooked breakfast not so successful, and I think at £20 was overpriced. Otherwise all wonderful and a lovely surprise!"
