"In love the concept of this hotel, it being based on a surrealist novel. There are hidden quirks that relate back to the fictional owner wherever you look. It’s highly unusual, extremely comfortable & a welcome respite from the humdrum of standard corporate hotels. "
"The most beautiful location, the building and the welcome was perfect. My kids and dog loved being in the freedom of the countryside. We didn’t have to travel too far for an evening meal. The chateau has such wonderful charm and was clean and extremely comfortable. I had such a good night sleep. My kids slept really well too. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely exceptional! "Quite obviously an ex-Campanile hotel as a lot of the signage remains the same.
The restaurant is an uninspiring open plan room next to the reception with only 3 choices of main meal.
Whilst the waitress was kind and accommodating, to have run out of eggs for the omelette (the only vegetarian option) was unfortunate.
Sadly, the location of the hotel makes the prospect eating elsewhere difficult.
The rooms are the small balconied type you’d expect to find at Campanile.
The mattresses were too firm and the accommodation is situated next to a busy road which is audible throughout the night.
In short, pleasant staff but let down by a slightly run-down feel to the accommodation. "
