Saw Nyein San was the highlight of our entire trip to Myanmar. The amazing, friendly, generous staff run a very clean, comfortable guesthouse, and are very helpful with any travel needs. Our room was clean, insect-free, and had strong A/C - everything you'd want in a Burmese guesthouse.
Also, the staff makes an incredible breakfast that we looked forward to each day in Bagan - definitely try their mohinga and Shan noodles! Delicious fresh fruit and fruit juices, snacks, and other foods too, with market-fresh ingredients. The food we had at Saw Nyein San was the best we had in Myanmar, and we went to many popular restaurants across the country.
The guesthouse also rents electric scooters in very good condition, and the staff showed us how to ride them and also gave us excellent recommendations about where to go in Bagan. The staff also helped us obtain a Burmese SIM card, which came in handy during our trip, and were extremely friendly throughout our stay. Very highly recommended!
Saw Nyein San Guesthouse is a place that I would highly recommend staying at due to the convenient location and hospitality of the owner. I stayed 2 nights here and the double bedroom was spacious. Air conditioning worked well, and so did the Wi-Fi. The toilet also had a bath tub and hot water was available. When I arrived at 6am by bus, I was able to check in immediately and get a good rest. The owner also has some good recommendations for food in the area. Rental of ebike was affordable at K8000 a day. When the tire was flat, a pickup truck came with a replacement ebike. Breakfast here was pretty filling. There was fruit, some fried snacks like fritters and prata, and then a dish that you could choose from the menu. I did not have to buy water during my time in Bagan as there was a water dispenser in the lobby. Most importantly is the kindness and hospitality of the owner. I was down with food poisoning and she provided me with medicine and offered to give a late check-out.
Helpful and friendly staff. Near restaurants and shops. Great breakfast of local foods, eggs, and fruit. Rent motorbike for 6000 kyats. Good rate for private taxi to see the pagodas. I booked the private taxi for 2 days. Great way to sightsee.
