"Wonderful Stay – Great Staff & Family-Friendly Experience We had an amazing stay at Holiday Inn Express Cortez during our road trip, and I truly can’t recommend it enough. The staff was fantastic throughout — attentive, kind, and always willing to help. We were traveling with our 5-month-old baby, and they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. A special shoutout to the front desk staff at check-in — especially the Indian gentleman who welcomed us. He was incredibly helpful, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed, including an extra bed for our baby. That kind of care really stood out. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we loved that the hot bath was available until midnight — it was a perfect way to relax after a long day of travel and exploring. Breakfast was also great overall. The Day 2 breakfast server deserves a big shoutout — she was proactive, kept everything clean and well-stocked, and made the morning feel welcoming. However, the Day 1 breakfast server seemed visibly irritated even with basic requests like refilling the pancake mix — a small hiccup in an otherwise fantastic experience. Every interaction with the front desk during our stay was pleasant and helpful. The team here really understands hospitality. We will absolutely stay here again if we’re ever in the area. Highly recommended for families and travelers alike!"

"Classic motel on large, well-kept grounds with fully renovated rooms, numbered 1950-1987 or something close to that, with each room themed to match the corresponding year in US history. So cool."

"Great breakfast! Unfortunately there was no internet when we stayed there. I think most of the town was affected by the outage. Small town inconveniences. Made it hard to check in and no TV. Everything else was ok. Good value!"

"Far View Lodge is inside the boundaries of Mesa Verde. The room had a balcony and you could see the surrounding valleys for several miles. It was quiet and peaceful. "
