"The views are incredible and so are the staff. They were extremely helpful and wanted to make sure we were taken care of. They provided free bikes so we were able to ride around the local area which was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon after doing the boat tour. There’s tons of bars and restaurants a few minutes down the road. The town proper was a bit of a bike ride but definitely manageable and the ride itself is beautiful so no complaints about that. The boat tour is about a 13-15...

"The family that runs this homestay is very warm and friendly. The room was big (surprising for Vietnam!), modern and clean. The best part for us was the view. The limestone mountains and the river we could see out our windows and door were just so picturesque. The location is away from the main homestay areas (although very close to Hoa Lu and the Trang An Boat Ride entrance) as well as any shops. They have a decent food offering, we found it useful to supplement with eating in town and bringing...

Top Northern Vietnam Hotel Reviews

L’HÔTEL du LAC Hanoi

10/10 Excellent

"Great stay. Absolutely fantastic staff. All speak excellent English and customer service was amazing. Great rooftop bar (did not use the pool). Great chance to have a talk with the bar staff and learn more about life in Hanoi. Btw breakfast was delicious too."

The Hanoi Signature Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"A fantastic hotel with great value for money! The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall experience was excellent. The staff were attentive and always greeted guests with a smile. I especially appreciated how helpful they were in arranging local tours and providing information about things to do in Hanoi. Everything went smoothly throughout my stay. Highly recommended for both leisure and business travelers."

Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi

10/10 Excellent

"Great location. Very comfortable room, good shower and a/c. Breakfast on the main restaurant was good with lots of options. The club was nice for an afternoon tea. The noisy/ squeaky bed was the only little thing that I believe needs attention. Best choice in Hanoi. I was happy with the Opera side."

Hanoi Splendid Premium Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"I had a very comfortable five-day stay. First and foremost, the room and bedding were clean and cozy—this is the most important aspect for me when traveling, so I wanted to highlight it right away. I was also truly touched by the genuine kindness of the staff, from the doormen to the front desk team. I’d like to extend a special thank you to Happy and Lily, as well as the other staff members—whose names I may not recall, but whose warmth and kindness I deeply appreciated. Everything, from the delicious breakfast with a stunning view to the rooftop bar, was absolutely satisfying. The hotel’s location is also excellent, making it perfect for a pleasant walk by the lake. On the downside, the swimming pool was quite small and occupied by people smoking, so I couldn't enjoy it and decided to skip it. Additionally, I was quite startled when a member of the housekeeping staff opened the door and walked in without knocking or ringing the bell."
