Motel 6 Colchester, VT - Burlington

"We were looking for low-priced accommodations — nothing along the lines of Hotel Vermont, an excellent facility that is also right there in Downtown Burlington. But we didn't want to stay in some dive, either. This Motel 6 filled the bill. In previous visits, we had stayed at the Anchorage Inn, on Dorset Street in South Burlington. It had also met our requirements and is a bit closer to downtown Burlington. But Motel 6 had a couple features that we liked more than Anchorage. For starts, it was less costly, though only marginally so. But we'll take our savings where we can find them. Secondly, we did not have to climb any stairs. At Anchorage, the check-in desk is ground-level but, curiously, mid-level between the first and second floors. If you have a room on the first floor, you have to walk down about eight steps to get there and up again to exit the building. If you're booked on the second floor, the process is the reverse. Up eight steps to enter and down to exit. A third feature we liked was that the air conditioner's controls worked as shown. At Anchorage, it blew cold, cold, cold. The only way we could get relief was to unplug it from the electrical outlet. The bathroom at Motel 6 was a bit larger than at Anchorage and perhaps better maintained.. There also are several places to eat nearby the Motel 6. McDonalds, Burger KIng, Wendy's — but also a Mexican restaurant, a Vietnamese restaurant and an America food place called Lighthouse."
Tälta Lodge, A Bluebird by Lark

"We stayed in the deluxe double queen on the second floor. The room was confined, with very little space for anything. The floor was quite uneven and pitched to one side- so much so that you could feel it lying in bed. The nordic-chic renovation was not very well constructed or thought out. The shelf with the kettle has no place to plug it in, for example. (The only place I could find to use it was on the floor- I would not place it on the wonky shelf on the pegboard wall.) The bathroom is tiny with only a small shelf for a few toiletries. The main space by the front desk is a nice area to hang out. They have comfy couches, good beer on tap and some snacks. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Overall the accommodations are very basic."

"Great clean room with a quaint country motif. The staff was excellent and had everything ready to go when I showed up. They have an excellent restaurant there too which I’ve enjoyed in the past and they are a great wedding location!"

"We had a delightful stay at the Innsbruck Inn. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were very nice and beautifully decorated. The bathrooms were very clean. The breakfast was delicious. The pool and hot tubs were nice. The beautiful creek and covered bridge at the back of the property were so picturesque. There were many amenities that we simply did not have time to enjoy but hope to come back again someday. Would highly recommend this location for families or a couple's getaway."

"Hôtel super bien situé, le personnel est super, le seul problème, c’est qu’il y a beaucoup de frais à ajouter une fois sur place…. Le service de valet à chaque nuit, les frais de Wifi à chaque nuit, la taxe d’hébergement. L’hôtel devrait inclure ses frais dans la réservation."

"Not a bad place. On a good side, the hotel has great interior in the lobby and mezzanine. Great location and breakfast. On the other hand, the room amenities were not good. No hot coffee maker in the room: you have to walk to a designated place to get coffee or hot water outside of breakfast hours. Some outlets in the room were not working. For the cost of the room, the lack of amenities felt considerable. Despite that, I would still recommend for a stay"
