I also wasn’t thrilled to get charged to use pool and amenities in spa. As a hotel guest I feel like we should have been given a day pass at least once. "

"We had an amazing stay at Wine & Books in Porto. From the moment we checked in we felt like we were being well looked after and the staff were keen to make sure we had everything wr could need. Maria, who checked us in, was exceptional. She provided us with a map of the city and gave us lots of great recommendations for places to eat as well as things to see. She also made sure we had a kettle in our room rather than just the coffee machine so we could have tea. Our room was lovely too. Breakfast was fantastic and again, the service and attentiveness of the staff was exemplarary. One of the nicest hotel stays I've had - would highly recommend staying here. "

"River view “apartment” with balcony was an excellent room. Clean, spacious (for european standards) and very comfortable. Hotel had fantastic views of the river and bridge, and extremely easy to get to the city even though it’s not placed in the city center. Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating whenever needed be. Breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious. Will be back if I find myself in Porto again. "

Breakfast was superb, a good selection with freshly baked pastries A great location too overlooking the river, and accessible to explore the city or get the tram outside to the beaches. Would recommend to anyone who likes understated chic hotels, without the bling. "
