Northern Mexico hotel rooms a the El Cid

"The way staff treat the hotel rules is worthless, poor and old school. Not pleasant "

"Everything from the airport pick up to checkout was bad. Staff was rude over the phone and never specified what time the transportation would arrive, we waited outside 30 mins before the shuttle showed up, called multiple times to ask for ETA. Checking in was the absolute worst, there was a line of 8-9 people and only ONE person at the counter, they had a self check in tablet but it did not work so we were forced to wait in line to get our keys. It was probably 30 whole mins standing until we were able to get our key, mind you I had already filled out all forms and signed all documents. We reserved a double room, it was TINY to say the least, very tight space to even walk in, sheets looked not properly cleaned and very stiff not warm at all. Shower floor was slimy as if it had not been cleaned, felt disgusting to take a shower, hairdryer fell off the wall since it was not well attached. Breakfast was just ok, there were flies over the fruit, juice tasted extremely artificial and sweet, everything was just below average expectations. Checkout was faster since there were no people at the counter but there is always just one person at the front. Overall this experience was terrible. "

"Very affordable , as well as border line dump . The room spelt like seer bevy’s of the sink not having proper venting system you here whe someone uses water in other rooms. Hair behind the both room door and dated warn out floors and wall finishes. Place is centrally located but needs a lot of preventative maintenance. "
