"The room was awesome, directly above the sidewalk for people watching and directly on the ocean, could feel the waves crashing, just wonderful. The views are great, the salt water pool with wave crashing in, the blow hole and black sand beach 750meters to the east were fun. Nice safe little village, great inexpensive restaurants, loved the scabbard fish and Sangria."

"Friendly staff and great location—close to local restaurants and easy to access. Parking is either street or hotel (first come, first served). Rooms lack complimentary water or hot beverages. Breakfast is average with limited options."

"Overall we had a great stay at the Estalagem do Mar. The staff was very friendly and helpful with last minute accommodations and present to help with any other needs. It was a 3 minute walk away from a little downtown area with restaurants, a convenience store, gift shop, and little stands that are open on the weekends. Would stay here again if we visit Madeira island again! Free parking on the facility was also a huge plus for us! "
