The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach

"The dining situation is abysmal. They have closed down the Cantina except for the bar. They apparently want everyone to go to their rebranded Sea Oats restaurant for "upscale" and overpriced food. I paid to go to the beach. No one is going to get out of the pool or off the beach, clean up, sober up and go sit down in a restaurant. I didn't. A 5 minute walk down the beach offered a multitude of dining, come as you are, affordable and great service. The one food truck never opened, the other was open form 11-4. Again, the only option for breakfast was Sea Oats, either an overpriced buffet of over cooked scrambled eggs and greasy bacon, or ala carte. A great disappointment after going for 5 years. Won't be back. They took my options away, and if nothing, our precious vacay time is all about options."

"The property overall was gorgeous! The elevated beachside pool was amazing!! This property is the closest to water.. others are a long haul from the hotel to the water and it is on a much quieter side of the pier!! So glad we tried a new hotel for our annual trip to Pensacola... we will definitely return to the PBR!! Thanks for such an amazing trip!!"

"Great hotel location on the beautiful white sand beach in a quiet, safe area! Comfortable beds, nice-sized bathroom. Breakfast was wonderful, staff was responsive. Would definitely stay here again!"

"Location was great and close to the beach. Great balcony view. Room was a bit odd. No table or chairs. Beds very high. No shelves in shower for soap and shampoos. No towel bars. Shower doors odd. Had to reach inside shower to turn it on so you don’t want to be dressed to turn it on. No microwave which would have been nice. First hotel i have ever stayed at that didn’t have ice buckets and we have stayed at a lot of places over the years. Toilet wobbled and we worried it would fall over. It was a very nice stay and we enjoyed it but it needs some work to make it functional."

"The beach was amazing. Our view from the balcony during the sunset was spectacular. The room was huge and a full size refrigerator was perfect. The humidity and smell of the room needs improvement. Probably replacing the carpet to a healthier option will avoid the moldy smell."
