"After requesting a quite room at time of booking we originally were located in no such room - friendly reception staff accommodated us but at our expense as they only had quite superior rooms. Which we paid the extra for. However do not be fooled by the name superior it was simply large. The furnishings were not what you would expect for a 4star - equally the toiletries were basic. That said the rooms was clean and the bed linen acceptable. "
Splendid Hotel Lac d'Annecy - Handwritten Collection
8/10 Good
"The location was perfect for exploring the Old Town. Very walkable and close to lots of lovely shops and restaurants. Spoiled for choice!
Parking was 50% off at the Hotel de Ville parking garage which was helpful. We paid about €6.
The breakfast room was very nicely appointed, and the breakfast had a good selection. We stayed on a Monday and the bar is closed in a Monday so we didn’t experience that.
The rooms are a little tired and I would say small however they way they are put together, including an interior door and the bathroom backing on to the bed wall, means that you don’t hear other guests coming and going, so that was a real plus.
Annecy is a stunning town. We will be back!"
"A lovely hotel, friendly staff, nice rooms, clean and the wellness centre was beautiful. Great location, lots of things to do within walking distance. "
"Overall, we were a little bit disappointed with our stay at L’Arveyron. When we first got there, the staff was very nice and helpful which was great, but before we walked into our room they mentioned they were having a "barbecue" outside that night. Our room was right above reception and rather than a barbecue it was more of a massive party outside and in the libby of the hotel with a DJ and karaoke. We were happy to put up with people having a good time, but once it got to midnight and we were prepared to wake up at 6am to ski the next morning we were very annoyed that we weren't informed of how loud it would be. Neither of us slept the first night we were there and we even used noise canceling headphones to try to tune it out and nothing helped. We understand that the spot is not advertised as quiet, but we were definitely falsely told about the plans for the evening. The room itself was pretty nice for the most part, but the shower has a lot of mold on the shower head, and also on the bottom of the door there was a bunch. Location wise we enjoyed the spot, but overall if we were to come back to Chamonix again, I would choose this as the last place I would want to stay. "
