Hamilton Inn Select Beachfront Mackinaw City

"The room smelled pretty bad, could not enjoy the balcony at all. It was covered with flies that are local. They don’t bite but not worth opening door for. Cleaning services was very average didn’t give us more tissue. My son had stained the sheets with fruit and wasn’t changed. Staff wasn’t friendly but helpful when asked questions. Just seems hospitality wasn’t really there."

Waterfront Inn - Mackinaw City

"I booked what was advertised as a picturesque lakefront cabin. Instead, when I checked in, I was directed to what appeared to be a small shed-like structure in the middle of a parking lot. It was not lakefront, did not resemble the accommodation shown in the listing, and was absolutely not what I paid for. I was assigned "cabin" #440, yet the only cabins I could find were numbered 1, 2, and 3. After multiple phone calls, being told to keep trying keys that did not work, and being instructed to try other units despite them being occupied, I finally insisted that someone come out and help me in person. That is when I was shown the parking lot structure I had supposedly booked. I repeatedly explained that I had specifically paid for a lakefront cabin. I was told that all lakefront cabins were occupied. I pointed out that I had booked a lakefront cabin and that one of the visible cabins appeared vacant. After 15 minutes of arguing, I was moved to a lakefront motel room, which staff repeatedly described as an "upgrade." Unless you don't mind paying premium lakefront cabin prices and potentially ending up in what looks like a shed in a parking lot or being told that a low-quality motel room is an "upgrade," then by all means, book here. Otherwise, I would not recommend this property."

Mackinaw Beach & Bay Inn & Suites

10/10 Excellent

"Loved being on the beach, opening the window and hearing the waves. Loved having the bathroom separating the 2 beds, so there is some privacy. Having laundry facilities was nice although I did not use them. Hotel offered discounts on the ferries, butterfly experience on Mackinaw Island, dining and other events. There was also a shuttle service to and from the ferry."

Lighthouse View Motel

8/10 Good

"My bathtub was not clean. I thought it may have been stained but i could scrape the soap scum with my nail. I did not use the pool or hot tub. The parking was adequate and safe. The staff was friendly enough. The location was great. Across the road from Lake Huron and within walking distance to the shops, restaurants and ferry."

Bridge Vista Beach - Hotel & Convention Center

4/10 Poor

"If you decide to save $20 or so, it is not worth it. It was uncomfortable to stay in this hotel(motel). It is outdated with rusty shower, mold in some areas of the bathroom, insufficient light, and no breakfast. The staff was very nice and accommodating though."
