"Stayed with my family at the resort for a week - it was our first time in Costa Rica, and overall the stay was good. The views are absolutely stunning and very aesthetic, the beach is within a 3-minute walk, and there’s a convenient shuttle that takes you around the property. That said, the all-inclusive food was disappointing. The options were very limited and repetitive (mostly rice, chicken, etc.). The rooms also do not have WiFi, it’s only available in the main lobby and restaurant areas. We visited at the end of May and it seemed like we were among the only guests there, which I assume is why several restaurants on the property were closed, along with the poolside bar."

Wyndham Tamarindo

"We loved our stay at the Wyndham Tamarindo. The staff were all great and the rooms were spacious with nice sized balconies, that had amazing views of the ocean. The only negative was that the bathrooms were small and a little awkward. The breakfast every morning had plenty of choices with hot and cold options. The pool was great and well maintained. There were lots of lounge chairs, and we never felt crowded. We were a little concerned about getting down to the beach but the shuttle worked out really well. It runs every hour and makes 2 stops, downtown and Langosta Beach Club. We did discover there's a dirt path in front of the hotel which leads down to the beach. We walked it several times (only during the day). Took about 10-15 minutes, it's about 1km. Its still hilly, but much more doable than the REALLY hilly street. All in all, and great stay! And looking forward to coming back!"

Occidental Tamarindo - All Inclusive

"The resort is small and located close to Tamarindo. The buffet and snacks were about as expected for an all inclusive with fountain pop and water coolers in central locations. I would not call this a 5 star if you are comparing to Mexico. Its likely a 4 at best. The restaurants on site were ok..better food in town. There seems to be alot of locals who show up for the weekend so the pool and beach becomes very busy however during the week the place was dead. The drink selection is ok with plenty of off brand liquor and some decent premium liquor included but items like spiced rum was considered for vip and the cost of that extra is not worth it. AC works great in the rooms as does the mini fridge. The same tired live band plays twice a day and seems to only have one set. The entertainment is very plain and basic but the people are very friendly and were easy to deal with. We enjoyed the stay but spent more time in town enjoying what Tamarindo had to offer for food and drinks. The beach area and estuary were the best part of this resort. Lots of sand and the water rushing in and out of the estuary made it fun to hang around in to beat the heat."

"The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff were exceptional. The tours available at the resort are well worth pursuing with excellent guides. It would be nice to have more benches while waiting for the shuttles, and perhaps some call boxes. Having more umbrellas at the pool would be welcome, and it would be great if the pools were open longer in the evening. The ocean beach here is lovely with lots of big shade trees, and nightly visits from howler monkeys and coatis provided entertainment . I highly recommend this resort!"

"The room was cleaned every day . The staff did an amazing job. The staff was very friendly and helpful . The only negative I have is the food wasn’t very good and it was over priced."
