"The cottage was gorgeous, in a lovely quiet location and parking at the back. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We only stayed a night but it had almost everything you'd need for a stay. A bit of soap in the bathroom and teatowel/towel and washing up liquid in the kitchen with some milk for a cuppa when you arrive would have made it perfect. "Upon arrival we were advised that we had received a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was lovely as we were visiting York for our wedding anniversary. Room was lovely and clean, the bathroom was huge and very clean. Hotel bar was very nice, lots of choice for drinks, lovely seating area with a great atmosphere. We also had breakfast great choices available, help your self tea and coffee and fruit juices. Novotel York is a great base for exploring the town, about 5-10 minute walk away, you can also walk alongside the river which is lovely. Would definitely recommend and we will be staying again"

"Reception and bar area as well as the rooms appear renovated and fresh. Hotel let down by a shabby entrance and dated pool which I guess is next for upgrade. Easy parking and lots of nearby amenities. Nearest pub about 10 minutes walk which looked like it had good food (star inn). Ate at KFC and didn't have breakfast"

"Our welcome was super friendly, Our room spotlessly clean as was the whole hotel. At breakfast we were also met by friendly helpful staff. Breakfast itself was excellent, as much as you wanted and such a choice. On our departure day our transport home was late afternoon but there was no problem leaving our cases at reception meaning we didn’t have to carry them round all day. The location of the hotel was the best for a sightseeing trip to York - Thankyou"

We were impressed with the accessibility of the toilets and lift on the ground floor and our accessible room was ideal for our needs."
