"I arrived from St. Louis late Friday night, May 22. Uber dropped me off at the lobby about 11:30 and I checked in. I was told my building was the last one all the way down on the complex so I walked. 3 buildings in the dark.
This would not have typically bothered me, however, I had all of my luggage, I was dressed up and alone. Come to find out, there was a Goth Convention going on at the hotel this weekend.
Being a single woman traveling alone, I was uncomfortable, even frightened by what I saw on the way to my room.
I chose to stay somewhere else on Saturday night since I wasn’t comfortable.
Came back Sunday late morning and stayed at the Handlery Sunday night. I checked out Monday morning.
I did not attempt to change my reservation at all because it was my daughter‘s graduation, we didn’t have time, and I didn’t want to make anything of it since I was there to celebrate her!
I’m not sure what else I can say but that I won’t be back. The rooms were clean and seemed well equipped with necessities. I just have to think hard about places I stay when I’m by myself/ safety is a BIG concern.
