"Alnwick Lodge is unlike any other hotel in which I have stayed. Every feature is completely unique and is specific to that hotel and the function of each facet. The hotel is the brainchild of Peter the owner whose acquaintance we were lucky to have made. For over forty years he has laboured to convert a a former derelict dairy farm into a hotel. And he has succeeded! From the sheltered courtyard with abundant herbs and wild flowers ringing with bird song, to the individuality of each room, the spacious sitting room, the dining room where each table is nestled in a horse box to the vast displays of quaint objects and antique furniture, and the wooden chair on the roof. The hotel takes one’s breath away. I cannot wait to return!"
