Lovely spot, right by the river, walking distance ( fairly level)to Windermere Lake and boats etc. Eating places also within walking distance, plenty others short drive away( Anglers Arms, Masons Arms). "I arrived after 5pm and had not realised Sykes cottages were dealing with the property. It took me two hours to get in because of email issues and also no one to get hold of after hours from Sykes. This needs looking into. The property itself was well worth the hassle I had been through and I will definitely go back for a second visit. It was clean and very quiet. Only issue was recycling I didn’t know what went where. Maybe a sheet telling you what to do. But apart from this would recommend."

Stonecross Manor Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel was lovely. Always space to park. We were welcomed by Helen and her team. Our room was clean. We had breakfast each morning of our stay, with a choice of a freshly cooked breakfast or a choice fresh, cereal and pastries. We also had an evening a couple of nights which was really nice. We also used the swimming pool which was lovely. Thank you to all of the staff for making up us feel so welcome and looking after us."

"Great location with free parking. Very friendly & helpful staff. The room we stayed in was on the top floor, which meant it was an unusual design, felt cramped. The en-suite had a very small shower and the extractor fan sounded like a tractor! Just feel like it needs a bit of maintenance/modernisation/love."

"Beautiful setting and well maintained restaurant and common areas. Breakfast was great! Rooms were very clean - our only complaint is the lack of air conditioning even though there was a unit in the room it wasn’t unusable. It was 30 degrees making the room unbearable. The windows also didn’t open properly and had to be propped open with glasses. Otherwise it was a beautiful hotel and we would stay again."

"Really lovely stay. The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean and well kept, with a modern bathroom. The spa was excellent, and it was especially nice to relax in the hot tub overlooking the mountains. Breakfast had a great range of options, including a hot breakfast and continental selection, and the food was excellent. Would definitely stay again. The only slight downside was the £10 parking charge, although I appreciate parking in the area is limited."
