"Great 4-star home base for Battle of the Bulge. Very clean, AC worked fine, adequate electricity in the room, WiFi was good. Shower was fantastic; bed was Queen sized with a new mattress and nice sheets. Parking is around back, but it's covered from most rain. Breakfast was a bit pricey but the nicest that we had for the whole vacation. Excellent food and a wide assortment. This is a higher-end place, and the clientele show it. We saw some "celebrities" while there. Local grocery store, "Cactus," is fabulous to fill up on the things you need for your car. Water, snacks, etc. About a five minute drive, in Marnach. Very good "central base" for touring the Bulge. The chateau, itself, was part of a relatively minor skirmish but just down the road in Clervaux (a *must* see) the Americans really held up the Germans in a rather significant battle. Marnach, where Cactus is, also held the Germans up with strong resistance. That's the theme of the whole area, and Urspelt is a great location to start from. St. Vith, Malmedy, Bastogne (of course), Houffalize, etc. are all easy to reach and worth the trip. TV was good. Note that you can change the "sound" setting to get American shows in their native English, which opens up a lot to watch while you wind down. Highly recommended for couples. Highly."

"The hotel receptionist Pedro was fantastic. He was professional, helpful and kind. He should be promoted to manager. The kitchens delivered up delicious food. Our server in the restaurant was forgetful though. We stayed one night in the Design hotel and the other night in the Kroener connected sister hotel. Both of our rooms were beautiful, well decorated, spacious and clean. I recommend these hotels. "

"Good location and special lift and cable car to the Spa"

"A gorgeous hotel in the centre of a small town. It was initially difficult to find and locate the entrance to the underground car park but this turned out to be very convenient and totally safe. Check-in was easy but we were surprised that the best way to reach our room was by going out of the front of the hotel to re-enter by another door. This was not a problem and the lifts were good. The room was excellent, with a nice view of the town square. It was large with a king size bed, and a very nice bathroom. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was plentiful with a wide selection of hot and cold options. The spa was an added bonus. Overall, a superb hotel."

"We liked the size of the room and where the hotel was located in the town. It was easy to access the F1 shuttle and walkable for many good cafes and restaurants. There was also a very cute dog that may have lived with the owner that was a big highlight. We did not like the condition of the hotel or room. The pictures on the website were obviously of a better time for the hotel. The bed was uncomfortable, the two very old pillows were almost not pillows, the bed linens and towels were very worn. The shower had great water pressure but the shower enclosure was awkward and ineffective. The bathroom floor was very slippery with so much water getting on it. There was no tv, the wifi was not good and the parking is just general street parking ( which we had no problem finding parking). Overall, I would personally not stay at this hotel again. It is way too run down and old. However the place would be cute if some love and care was put back into it. "

"We booked a family room for the third week in July. Receptionist welcoming and spoke English. Room was of a good size, with bunk beds over the main double bed for our family. A couple of niggles though: The lighting system is confusing. There are limited instructions as to how to turn them off, though this is in German and French and not English. If you are reading this and having the same problem, you need to click the left hand switch twice to turn them off and have the room and darkness, otherwise every time you turn one light off, another one will turn on in the room. It took a call to the concierge to find this out (I suspect he was a little annoyed, as he told me twice that the instructions were on the wall - maybe expecting Facebook, French or German). Though the room was clean, the carpet needs washing, as there was an order of stinky feet to it. The room was also very hot, even with a ceiling fan, so you may want to bring a fan of your own to keep cool during the night."
