"Oberstdorf is a beautiful hiking paradise with plenty of Hotels. Hence there is no need to stay in the sub-par Fuggerhof where you are put into a basement room while the unfriendly front desk staff tries to up-sell you into an above ground room - as if that were a special feature. "We chose to stay, having done so about 6 years ago, and as before this was a wonderful hotel in every way. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the rooms are large with comfy beds (we had a Mountain View room), and the breakfast is fantastic. "Beautiful area, of course we're in Austria! Traffic through the Fernepass was atrocious, which is right near Obsteig. Construction was in process across the road from hotel and the trucks that traveled the road all night that our room overlooked were very loud. No A/C so leaving windows open was a must. Great location

"Great hotel to stay in for your visit to the castle! Rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was good- lots of people eating but service was ready promptly. We were in a large van so we knew the parking garage under the hotel would be very tight, they recommended one just a 5 min walk away that was outdoors and worked perfectly for us."

"Train delayed past our check in time, & property sent a detailed video with instructions to allow us to check in on our own. Spacious, clean & beautiful room. A/C & instant coffee in the room was a plus. Good breakfast at reasonable price. Thankful we found this place. Great price and location. "
