"Quiet couple that wanted to relax at the beach we booked 5 days and was put on middle floor next to elevator where it was super noisy the whole time. Asked for a room switch to top floor and was told they would try and never heard back. Zero noise enforcement. Kids running up and down hallway all day. Homeless dude living in his car allowed on property. Weed smoke everywhere. People hanging out in hallways loud. No good sleep . Ran out of towels. When asked for towels said they were out and too busy to get us some. Definitely never staying here again. Disappointing after staying there for about 7 years. All manager does is smoke cigarettes all day. Free breakfast is 2 stars. You hear everyone above you and next to you. Good luck relaxing here. "
"Called front desk around 2pm to see if they had a room ready. Front desk girl told me no and to come back after 4pm. Then I proceeded to tell her I would be in a poker tournament at the casino the whole day and I won’t be able to check in til late night. She said that’s fine you can check in anytime. If you show up after midnight I just neee to ring the bell to get in. I was done gambling around 4am and went to the hotel to check in and was told they gave my room away because I didn’t show up in time. Not only did I not get a room and had to sleep in my car I was charged 3/4 of my hotel reservation cost with no refund. I’m never going back there again. Both the front desk girls during the day and at night was unprofessional. "
"It was welcoming for pets and fairly clean. Tons of unique amenities and having a hotel room with a separate bedroom was very nice. I wish there would have been one more place to sit inside of the room. I would describe it as decent for the price and very very quirky. The wheelhouse was not open during our stay which was a major bummer. I didn’t think to check if they were open during the week. We were there over spring break on a day they were not open. "
"The steps on the stairs are metal bars - like at a ski resort. They are treacherous and my 60 lb dog refused to go down them. I had to carry her down 2 flights and I knew I couldn't be doing that safely in the dark. Luckily they had one first floor room available for $100 more. (plus the $30 pet fee I'd already paid.) This room was a king, w/hot tub out on a teeny deck with unsafe wooden steps. The room wasn't as nice as the original one, no wifi info, TV dying. No peephole in the door. (My dog growled often at the door.) No key cards, only an actual key. Ancient heater on the wall, dirty windows. Also had to go to the office for ice as ice maker was broken. Needs major remodel. DON'T BRING YOUR DOGS HERE if you aren't on the first floor. The manager/owner was kind but still took all my money, haha. "
"The room was perfect. Clean, updated with all i needed.
The one thing missing was a USB outlet.. at least i couldn't find one but i will know better next time. Definately plan to go back."
"The nature here is absolutely fantastic — the beach walks and bike rides are truly the highlight.
Just be prepared for a little “surprise” at checkout… about 20% extra on top of the fees and taxes on Orbitz, nicely labeled as a “nature preservation” fee. Gotta support the views, I guess 🙂
The property itself is a bit dated — especially the spa center. The pool, jacuzzi, and sauna have definitely seen better days, and the one-shower-per-locker-room setup with empty sample-size shampoo dispensers adds a certain… minimalist charm.
It’s also very pet-friendly — which is great, unless it’s your neighbor’s dog enthusiastically trying to scratch through the connecting door all night. A truly immersive experience."
