Property was well maintained, beautiful gardens, great pool. Elena and her team were on hand to help - their service was very good. The access to the nearest village (Platka) requires a bit of a walk approx 20 minutes, so it a car to get around is very important.

Hidden Gem

Valena Mare was darling. Our family unit was perfect for the four of us. The breakfast was excellent, the manicured grounds delightful and the pool was so refreshing after a long day at the beach. The walk to beach is about 5 minutes and there are 2 hotels with restaurants:beach clubs. Otherwise, the walk to Plaka area is about 20 minutes. Market and great restaurants there along with beach clubs. You will need a car if you want to explore the island further as 20 or so minutes from town. The staff was so welcoming and worked hard to meet every need. My only negative is that beds a little hard but that could just be my taste. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Un lugar muy bonito para descansar

Las instalaciones del lugar son magníficas. Un lugar muy agradable para descansar alejado del ruido y de los turistas. A 5 minutos de buenas playas donde uno puede descansar. Sólo hay que estar atento de cómo llegar si no se renta un coche pues no es tan fácil el acceso en autobus y con las maletas. El personal muy amable y accesible.

Secluded Gem

This was a beautiful little hotel with charming staff. While it is just a stones throw away from the beach it's far enough down Plaka beach that it's not as crowded as the other parts. There are two lovely beach bars right where you reach the beach. The hotel itself has a lovely pool area which is well maintained and is surrounded by trees and bushes unlike a lot of other accommodation in the area. The room air condintiong was wonderful and really needed. Things to be aware of: as with most of the island wasps (bees?) are a problem at meal times. The hotel does try and lure them away with an orange juice trap; no one in my group was stung. Google maps isn't completely accurate for this area so look for signs.

An excellent place to stay

Loved Valena Mare! They were able to arrange transport for us from the port to the apartments as it's in Plaka which is a bit far from Chora. Elena greeted us and explained everything thoroughly about the apartments, the area, and what to do. She provided us with maps, names of good restaurants and how to walk to the bus stop along with the bus timings. As well, we were then given a lovely plate of fresh fruit and juice upon arrival in our room. The room and washroom were very clean, as was the kitchenette. Everything had been updated and the balcony views were perfect. Breakfast was simple but excellent and one of our wonderful hosts, George, was very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely recommend Valena Mare to anyone heading to Naxos.

Petite pension sympa mais éloignée de tout

Charmant petite pension avec très peu de chambre pour garantir une certaine tranquillité. Chambre propre et fonctionnelle et le personnel a toujours été là pour nous lorsque nous en avions besoin. Service impeccable !

Service irréprochable. La mer est à 200m et le petit déjeuner copieux . La chambre et terrasses sont très grandes , mais la vue mer n'est pas exceptionnelle . La piscine et son jardin sont magnifiques Adresse où nous aurons plaisir à revenir

Schöne Anlage am tollen Strand Plaka

Hübsche Anlage, prima Pool. Als wir da waren wetterbedingt leider extrem viele Fliegen vor Ort. Tolle Aussicht von der Wohnung im ersten Stock! Umgebung ruhig und entspannt. Etwas abgelegen, aber der Spaziergang am Strand entlang in Richtung der ebenfalls tollen "promenade" von plaka ist sehr schön (15-20 min). Der Strand selbst ist nur 3 Minuten entfernt, nur kurz den Weg runter und sehr schön und entspannt. Auto oder Quad wird einem organisiert wenn gewünscht. Definitiv zu empfehlen um die Insel zu erkunden! Frühstück super und verhältnismäßig abwechslungsreich bzw Auswahl ist gegeben. Insgesamt also zu empfehlen für alle die ein ruhiges und hübsches Plätzchen suchen.

Was staying here for a wedding. First of all before we got there we were told that the hotel was overbooked and for the first night there was no room for us. They did arrange another hotel though. After finally moving over the room was of a decent size although quite basic. The pool is nice. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away. Staff are quite nice.

Pésima ubicación

El hotel está muy lejos de cualquier servicio, con lo que es totalmente imprescindible coger vehículo para cualquier cosa. Además en el hotel no hay ni restaurante, ni bar, ni nada para comprar, ni siquiera un Sandwich por si no quieres salir de allí una tarde o noche. Los 20 minutos que aparecen en la descripción de distancia a restaurantes y supermercados realmente son 40 y andando por la playa, camino que evidentemente no puedes hacer por la noche porque no hay iluminación y tendrías que andar por la arena. Por todos estos detalles la información que se da del hotel no es real. Por otra parte el hotel está escondido hacia el interior en lo que podría ser una cuarta o quinta línea de playa pero sin nada delante, apartado por un camino de tierra desolado y sin iluminación que no es agradable por lo que no puedes ni salir a dar un paseo. Solamente en el caso de que utilices el vehículo cada vez que entres y salgas del hotel podría entender el alojamiento allí, aunque a otro precio claro.

Super sted !!

Smukt (frodigt) og meget fredeligt sted. 3 minutter til skøn strand. Dejlig morgenmad. Lej bil, eller gå 15 minutter langs stranden, til busstoppested. Bus til Naxos by. Én gang i timen. Sidste bus afgår fra Naxos by 23.00.

Tranquillità e cortesia

Io e mio marito siamo stati in questo hotel due giorni, giudizio molto positivo. Ottima accoglienza da parte di Elena, servizio impeccabile e cortesia estrema. Immerso nel verde di un bel giardino dove fare la colazione, adiacente la piscina. Unico neo, la difficoltà nel trovarlo, e per raggiungerlo occorre una macchina, oppure che dall'albergo vengano a prenderti o al porto o all'aeroporto (mi pare che il servizio sia offerto). Noi avevamo preso in affitto un'auto. Complimenti x la accurata pulizia e la cura nel soddisfare i clienti da parte della proprietaria.

Notre hôte Elena nous attendait à l'arrivee du Ferry et heureusement vu l éloignement de l hôtel. Neanmoins en arrivant dans cet établissement nous y avons trouvé ce que nous recherchions depuis le debut: du calme... Elena nous a absolument tout expliqué avec sa carte et nous a meme offert un cocktail de bienvenue accompagné de pasteque et melon. Sur son conseil nous somme allées au restaurant voisin "le medusa" où l'accueil a été très charmant. Le petit dej est en supplément (entre 3€ et 6,50€). Très acceptable, seul bémol le jus de fruit pasteurisé. De majestueux sofas à baldaquins vous attendent pour paresser accompagné d'un léger son lounge. Nous voulions y rester une nuit de plus malheureusement l'hôtel était réservé pour un mariage. Bref, à découvrir.

Wunderbare Apartments in Strandnähe

Die familiengeführten Apartments Valena Mare liegen mitten im Grünen in unmittelbarer Strandnähe (2 Minuten). Es sind ein paar Apartments in einer wunderschönen gepflegten Anlage. Fussläufig sind nette Tavernen und Supermärkte zu erreichen. Elena ist sehr nett, unkompliziert und hat viele interessante und hilfreiche Tips für die Erkundung der Insel. great stay at Valena Mare

Very nice hotel near the beach in Plaka with a beautiful garden surrounding the property. Not right on the beach and a bit further from the best part of Plaka beach but a great solution nonetheless. The hotel owners were very helpful and their daughter Elena a gem.
