"The area around Kayenta is amazing, but it looks like it's a pretty tough place to make a living. The room, and everywhere else, was very clean. I'm guessing it's hard to keep sand blowing in, and the windows and lots of the fixtures and things are kind of tired. The buildings themselves are still pretty promising, just need a little more business.
The restaurant was odd - you'll see the review scores are not great, but are either very high or very low. For us it was basic but worked fine and our server was great, but there was another table that was very unhappy (didn't overhear why).
A few staff around the hotel were very offhand, so offhand they wouldn't really deal with you, but then the next person would be extremely helpful, so it didn't really matter it was just strange.
Note there is no Wi-Fi in the hotel, or in the room. That caught me by surprise, and was a pain for work because cell data coverage for my network was also very poor.
In Kayenta itself I think other places struggle too. The places Google thought would be open were not, and I think hours everywhere maybe depend on whether enough guests show up.
From what I saw, I'd expect this would be one of the better places to stay in Kayenta. You'll be there for the scenery and the location near Monument Valley. So I'd certainly stay there again, just temper your expectations taking account you're trying to stay in the middle of nowhere really, where water and jobs and everything except scenery is scarce."
"Had a great stay at this hotel while on a vacation. The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Had no issues during our stay and it met all of our expectations. Would stay again and would definitely recommend."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The balcony views in the hotel rooms were outstanding! It’s nice that it is dog friendly too. Great place to base yourself for Monument Valley"
