"Brilliant setting, we had toured the whole island and this was probably the best hotel we stayed at. Staff were so observant of your needs. Food very good. Have done creature comforts for the Brits especially when your curried out and want a shepherd's pie or a roast but still have all of the Sri Lankan food. Rooms are colonial style, very nice. "The owner/host and housekeeping staff were very friendly and nice to talk to. They can arrange tuk tuk for the guests and home style food was so delicous. Due to its location, guests will need to have insects repellent spray applied at all time. Overall very nice stay at villa birdlake. "

"We wanted a relaxing and peaceful holiday with a pool and view and good service. This hotel didn’t disappoint us. There are only six rooms so the service was personal and exceptional. The hotel is located at the quieter end of the Hikkadawa stretch of beach which suited us. The livelier bars and hotels were only a short walk away too.
