The pink Parliament Buildings stand proudly against blue skies while the hand-carved Queen's Staircase winds through limestone cliffs. Fort Fincastle offers sweeping harbor views where cruise ships dock daily. Explore the vibrant Straw Market for authentic Bahamian crafts and souvenirs. Bay Street features duty-free shopping and local seafood restaurants serving fresh conch and rock lobster. Most attractions sit within a 10-minute walk of the cruise port.

Luxury resorts like Baha Mar and Sandals Royal Bahamian line the shore, offering casinos, spas, and upscale dining. Water sports centers provide jet ski and parasailing adventures for those seeking excitement. Resort life defines this area with manicured tropical gardens and swim-up bars creating a vacation atmosphere. Beach clubs with thatched-roof bars dot the shoreline where steel drum music fills the air. Most amenities stay within resort boundaries, with limited authentic Bahamian experiences beyond the hotel properties.

Grand Hyatt Baha Mar

Grand Hyatt Baha Mar

8/10 Good
"Property was nice. The staff were all friendly and responsive. Prices were extremely high. Whether or not it’s affordable isn’t the point. It’s the principle of the price point. We live in Boston, so high prices aren’t new to us. A couple things were laughable. 200 to 300 % markup was the average. We’ve been to several islands and understand the shipping creates higher prices but the Bahamas are some of the closest islands to the United States and the costs were not even close to the other islands we’ve visited. It’s sad this review is primarily about the markup with costs because we did have a good time but for us personally maybe felt a little tacky be okay with blatant price gouging. Again it’s a feeling of principality. Lots of kids and my wife and I were traveling sans kids. It looked like there was plenty of things to do with kids and it looked like they were having fun. The food was pretty good. No complaints. Rooms and pools were nice."

"Excellent property located near the airport. Up on a hill overlooking the ocean. Be advised that the entrance to the lobby is not ADA compliant. Meaning no ramp to the lobby. Just 20 steps. Architecture was beautiful and grounds were well kept. Easy walk down the private road to the nearby restaurant (which was quite good). It is about 20 minutes from downtown and not walkable. But hotel will shuttle you there if you wish to leave some dollars on island for t shirts. I’d definitely stay there again."
