"The water slide was closed for the entirety of our visit, which was disappointing from the start. Additionally, the beach is advertised as “private” on the website, but this is misleading. It is actually a public beach that was very crowded and busy during our stay. The wording online, highlighting “Private Beach” followed by mention of cabanas and beds, led me to believe the beach itself was exclusive, which was not the case.
I was also told as a teacher I would receive a 10% discount on food and drinks. However, when I inquired about this, I had to argue with the day manager, David, who repeatedly stated that because I booked through a third-party vendor, the discount would not be honored. While he eventually offered a $100 resort credit, the interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional, he hung up on me after offering the credit.
There were also several issues with our room. The toilet clogged twice, the shower leaked water all over the floor, and housekeeping consistently came late in the afternoon around 4:15 to 4:30 PM, which conflicted with the time my daughter and I were getting ready for dinner.
As we were leaving, staff informed us that the resort will be closing April 1 for a 9-month renovation.
As a single mom and a teacher, this trip was a significant expense for me and was meant to celebrate my daughter’s 10th birthday. Unfortunately, I left disappointed by the resort, particularly due to the discrepancies between what is advertised and the actual experience."
