"We had 4 rooms and 3 generations of family staying for one night for our son's 30th birthday. The rooms windows did not open despite signs saying they did, and some of our party were uncomfortably warm overnight. There was one person on reception for check in. We were fortunate, only waiting 15 minutes, but at a time when there was a wedding and also a function on, as well as dozens checking in it seemed strange not to have more personnel manning the desk. The residents bar closed at 10.30pm and my daughter had to go to the function bar to get a round of drinks in, one German guest who had gone outside for a cigarette didn't make it back in time for a whisky, which he'd been looking forward to. Having said that the breakfast staff were wonderful and the breakfast buffet was very comprehensive, the hotel is just outside Aviemore and has plenty for kids to do (we had 4 aged 5 and under), but the pool had been closed the day we arrived. All and all we are unlikely to be back as apparently the heat in the bedrooms is a common complaint and nobody could explain why the bar closed that early."

"Unfortunately it was massively over priced but this was due to the Loch Ness marathon weekend. We stayed 2 nights and were very disappointed that we didn't get breakfast on the first morning due to having to leave early for the marathon. I think they could have offered to open half hour earlier personally considering that there were a lot of runners staying at the hotel! The breakfast the next day was nice enough though so no complaints there. They had no chef for evening meals which we weren't told about before coming up either so later Saturday night we had to go out and look for food which was tricky given it was a really busy weekend for the city! When we booked there was nowhere to click double "bed" so unfortunately we had 2 single beds. When I asked about it after checking my invoice the lady behind the desk said that I had to stipulate when booking even though I clicked double room!! The lady on reception on the day we checked out however was very lovely. She booked us a taxi and she was very helpful."

"The room was phenomenal and they left the sweetest goody bag for my dog in the room. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was huge! The tub was great for a much needed relaxing soak and the shower was massive. The food in the restaurant was also delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and at home. I was so impressed with all of the care and details they put into their hotel as well as making their guests feel special. I will definitely be coming back! It was such a comfortable getaway."

"Beautiful property with stunning water views. Accessible walking path along the water. The room was well accessorized. The food in the restaurant was good, the haddock and chips was excellent. The only downside was the 4th floor room without a working lift made ingress and egress a challenge."
