"I stayed for 1 week and the hotel staff and the room was great. It was clean and quiet. The manager and security personnel were top notch. When I come back I will be staying at one of their hotels. "

I stayed at Alvear Palace for four nights. The hotel is in the upscale Recoleta neighborhood, close to the cemetery and high end shops.
It has a grand old-world vibe to it...feels a bit like stepping back in time.
I had room 638 which did not face the street. The large room was in three sections, an office space, living room and bedroom. Even though there was just one window the overhead chandeliers were bright. The bed linens were embossed and newish...as were the towels. There weren't as many power outlets as is typical in a more modern hotel and some of the light fixtures were crooked or damaged. And the pillows were feathered but it would have been nice to have a menu to change if I wanted foam or hypoallergenic.
The bathroom was large with a standalone shower, tub, toilet and bidet. There is a grate under the sink where you can hear the water from the sink and shower drain into...startled me at first as I thought the room was flooding. It wasn't, but that is something we dont have in American bathrooms. The shower pressure was glorious but the shower head was unfocused so water went everywhere. I asked them to have maintenance take a look and when I got back to my room I had a new shower head that worked perfectly.
The breakfast buffet was not extensive but the food was hot and tasty. They had fresh toast, scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, vegetables, cold cuts, fruit and an assortment of breads/pastries. Omlettes cost extra and were made to order

"Everyone was friendly. Offered daily housekeeping, the bistro next-door that is affiliated with the hotel was absolutely amazing. Plus, they offered a discount if you were staying at this hotel."
