"This is a budget motel, in a fabulous location, but do not expect fancy. The room is very clean but small-ish, and the property is a bit old/dated. No air conditioning, but windows that open and a fan. That was plenty for us in late September, but might be hard in warmer months. The location is great, right off Dam Square, but can be a little noisy at night. Ear plugs are provided and the curtains help block the noise even if the windows are open. The breakfast is terrific, the staff is amazing, and lobby is charming. It was perfect for a stay in Amsterdam where Amsterdam was the focus, and we spent very little time in the hotel. Totally acceptable if you can't do a hostel and don't want to spend a lot of money. Very good for the price."

"If you're on a budget and don't want to stay in a pod, this ia good shout. Hotel is well postitioned at the end/start of a tram line, and it takes about 30/40 mins to get into town. Rooms are not huge but big enough and are clean. A few minor niggles with mine but nothing deal breaking."

"You cannot beat the location of this hotel if you plan to do all the top tourist attractions in Amsterdam. There is no shortage of places to eat and close to the best shopping. My 2 teen kids stayed in the triple room and it was perfect. A little compact but we made it work for our 3 nights stay. Last but not least the staff was so warm and welcoming. The check in was smooth and started our trip off right."

"Thoroughly enjoyed amenities at Ruby Emma, the room had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. The complimentary drink was a nice touch. In a pinch the food was ok. There is a Mc Cafe across the street, but we made more use of the grocery store 2 buildings down with fresh pastries and cold drinks. the metro was less than a 5 minute walk which was unexpected but super convenient; we were in Amsterdam Central in 10-15 mins."

"Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned each day, but they didn't seem to sweep/vacuum the floor. There was a restaurant downstairs, and a store for snacks, drinks, coffee, etc below too, which was a plus."
