Fishing, golf, watersports, breathtaking mountains and lake scenery welcome visitors to this easygoing town in Northern Arkansas.

Outdoor recreation, such as watersports, fishing and golf, make Mountain Home a popular vacation, daytrip and weekend getaway destination. Mountain Home is a pretty town in Northern Arkansas nestled between glorious lakes and rivers in the foothills of the rolling Ozark Mountains.

Mountain Home’s major attractions sit within its picturesque natural surroundings, which are just a short drive from the town center. Spend a fun-filled day boating, sailing, swimming or waterskiing on the glistening waters of Bull Shoals Lake and Lake Norfork. Enjoy year-round fishing opportunities on the nearby rivers. Cast a line in search of brook, brown and rainbow trout on the White River and Norfork River. 

Go to Bull Shoals-White River State Park for a host of family-friendly activities. Find hiking trails, picnic areas, kids’ playgrounds and campsites. Walk across the 256-foot-tall (78-meter) Bull Shoals Dam. Join a guided tour of the millennia-old limestone caves of Bull Shoals Caverns. Learn about the communities of the Ozark Mountains at Mountain Village 1890.

Take a break from outdoor adventures and visit the antiques stores, galleries and flea markets in downtown Mountain Home. Browse exhibits of regional art at the Hill Country Art Gallery. See an interesting collection of fishing-influenced art at the Rivertown Gallery. Enjoy independent theater productions at the Twin Lakes Playhouse and watch a performance by the Mountain Home Symphony.

Mountain Home is also known for its public golf courses. The award-winning Big Creek Golf Course and Twin Lakes Golf Course are both less than a 10-minute drive from the downtown district.

The most convenient way to reach and get around Mountain Home is by car. The town is a about a 2.5-hour drive from Fayetteville and 4 hour from Memphis, Tennessee. You’ll find various attractions within a 1-hour drive of the town. Go kayaking and whitewater rafting on the Buffalo National River. Fly through forest treetops on a zip line at Buffalo Outdoor Center. Discover Arkansas’ mountain culture, watch live music and shop for handicrafts at the Ozark Folk Center State Park.

"The **Days Inn in Mountainhome** delivered a **decent night’s sleep** with a few colorful touches. The room was **clean enough**, just not quite “white glove approved.” Nothing gross — just a bit lived-in around the edges.
