"Room was clean despite housekeeping shortage the first weekend open for the season. Staff was awesome. It was great staying onsite at the National Park. The road to access it was slow, long, up a very old winding grade, but well worth the trip to the top. The lodge restaurant had excellent food and the breakfast buffet (not included) was amazing. It did not bother us, but the rooms are very basic, clean but older. There are no elevators. You are paying for the convenience and beauty of the location. Because of the location, we were able to get up early and visit General Sherman and other sites prior to the onslaught of tourists. Well worth it. "
"Loved the location, staff was super helpful, especially when our parking spot was taken by someone else. Breakfast was okay, but a good way to start the day’s adventure. The room was good, but the bed was a little too soft for our liking. "
"Room was clean and comfortable, staff was so nice and accommodating. It’s a great location to see the Mountain View and if you’re going into Death Valley. "
"Doug was helpful and friendly on check-in. We loved the view of Mt. Williamson behind the motel. The room was very clean and cozy and had everything we needed. The towels and linens are of good quality and the beds comfortable. It was handy to be able to park right out front of the room to quickly unload. As with most hotels and motels along 395, it’s close to the road, but earplugs and the a/c unit drowned out the noise. A good spot to head out to Death Valley the next day. "
"this is closer to a 4 or 5
rug was stained from front doorway to bathroom
beds were clean and comfortable
didn't need air
no staff on site, but easy check in
room in dire need of update
"
"Close to restaurants and gas stations. Main attractions of Alabama hills is just 10mins away. Super clean rooms and professional staff--you get what you sign up for."
