Quaint but a little too rustic for me.shower was difficult, wiring and extension cords seemed unsafe. I appreciate this is a very old hotel but I prefer something less musty.
The staff was lovely and helpful.
We went to snowmobile and the snow didn’t cooperate but we settled in to our sweet thoughtfully detailed room. We were told it was the smallest of the rooms but as a couple we enjoyed it and the Mountain View’s. We took advantage of the eateries downstairs loving the Butcher Block grill gotta try the steak sandwiches!! So good. Loved exploring the area and coming back to the common areas and a toasty fire. The history of this place is so cool and got to have a lovely conversation with the owner who was very friendly and welcoming.
Would love to visit again and catch some snow next time. Thank you!
My favorite place to stay. I have stayed in just about every room. The rooms are meticulous, beds are comfortable, you can contact the staff if you need anything. The town of McCloud is just so charming.
I liked how everything was old style but well kept clean and pretty. What I didn't like is that I happened to come when shops were closed but that has nothing to do with the hotel.
Unique and historic property. Huge and spotless rooms, a breakfast credit valid at two great places, nice restaurant/bar on site. We stayed in the Arts & Crafts room and it was so charming and comfortable. The claw-foot tub was just what the doctor ordered after a full day of hiking. Great stay!
Sarah was amazingly helpful with local restaurants & place to visit etc..
Our hotel room ( Art & Craft) was Fantastic!
Huge room with very tasteful interior & very comfortable bed!
It was Best hotel experience!
Thank you Sarah!
This is my favorite place to stay. I have been staying here since the early 2000s and have stayed at least 10 times (if not more). The Inn is beautifully and meticulously restored keeping with the time-period of the building but adding modern conveniences such as excellent water pressure, comfortable beds, and many other amenities. The owners are so warm and welcoming. I recommend the Mercantile Inn to everyone I know.
5/5 Stars
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and we couldn't be more impressed! The location was perfect - quiet and clean, making it an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Our room was truly amazing and beautifully decorated. We felt right at home!
Downtown, we enjoyed some fantastic food at the local restaurants. Our waitress (unfortunately, I've forgotten her name) was incredibly helpful and attentive.
However, two staff members truly made our stay exceptional: Darlene and Stacy. Darlene went above and beyond to ensure our stay was remarkable, and Stacy's coffee shop downstairs served up an amazing breakfast!
We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway!
Beautiful old 1890's building in mountain town. Kitchen down the hall had hot drinks available. Surprised to find no hair dryer in the room. Should have packed mine. Nice toiletries in the bathroom. TV had no signal, but it may be due to the weather. Woke up to snow in the morning, so we left without trying the breakfast. Sign in the cafe listed $12 for hotel guests.
The cutest hotel! The owners were so friendly. The room was adorable and spacious. The community area was lovely to hang out in by the fireplace and visit with other guests and play games at night.
Beautiful place full if okd world charm restored to modern standards with taste .Owners and locals are a pleasure to get to know and be around. Most customers come back year after year. We love this place:)
